Dive in... Think Deep!

                            Meet The Teacher

Hi!  My name is Mrs. Leazenby and I am so excited to be your First Grade Teacher.  It’s going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures.  I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us.  I want to know all about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.

I was born and raised in Texas.  I am the oldest of three. I have two younger sisters. My husband’s name is Dennis and I have two children. Their names are Brooke and Logan.  Brooke is starting her first year in college, and Logan is a senior in high school.  Both of my kids are Pleasant Valley Bulldogs.  They loved our school and still have good memories about P.V. I love them!

I graduated from college at West Texas State University and began teaching right away.  I have taught at P.V. for twenty two years.  My mom also taught at P.V.  The grades I have taught are First, second, and third.  Of course first grade is my most favorite!  Having experience in all of these grades will really help me challenge you to “Dive in….Think Deep”, this year!

I am so excited to be your First Grade teacher and for you to be part of this AWESOME 1B class.  This is going to be a treasure of a year!

A few of my favorite things

                                    Favorite color                     Purple                                      Sincerely,

                                                Favorite season                  fall                                               Mrs. Leazenby

                                               Favorite food                       pizza

                                              Favorite fast food               Wendy’s

                                              Favorite drink                     Coca-Cola

                                              Favorite sport                     football

                                              Favorite animal                  lion

My instruction is differentiated because all students learn in a variety of
ways.  Learning takes place according to student differences in readiness, interests, and learning needs.  This is most effective where knowledge is clearly and powerfully organized while the learner is pushed beyon his/her independant level.  My students use self-efficacy to achieve goals that they first believed were beyond their reach.  I love to teach them how to learn!
